Day 1 - Meditation Invitation

Hello dear!

I’m so honored you decided to join me in committing to 5 days of consistent meditation practice. I created this invitation because at this time of year, many of us are scheming up how to change, fix or better ourselves. In all honesty, typical new year’s resolutions make me cringe. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for bettering oneself and acquiring new skills, but not from a place that something is wrong, but instead from a seat of reflective compassion.

So as we enter a new year, I want to encourage you to take time to pause, to create a space of refuge where you can ask some of those tougher questions like, ‘How do I want to show up in the world; in my life?’ and move forward with perhaps a bit more softness than force.

My hope for these next 5 days is that you learn about yourself, maybe try something new and create a habit of daily reflection; a place of refuge.
So cheers to 2019 and without further ado, your first practice awaits.

PS - If anything comes up I’m only an email away. If you have questions or need support I’d love to hear from you.

From the cushion,

Sarah

Poem of the day:

The Old Poets of China by Mary Oliver

Wherever I am, the world comes after me.
It offers me its busyness. It does not believe
that I do not want it. Now I understand
why the old poets of China went so far and high
into the mountains, then crept into the pale mist.

Daily mantra:

Where do I want to focus my attention today?
