Meet Your Instructors

Tristina and Michael from Roots to Wings Yoga

Hi! We are Michael Fong & Tristina Kennedy, the founders of Roots to Wings Yoga. We have spent more than a decade leading classes, teacher trainings, and retreats all over the globe.

We've done all of the wild things you might expect from dedicated yoga practitioners. We’ve studied with a guru at an ashram near the foot of the Himalayas in India, meditated for days on end with monks in monasteries, and taken thousands of hours of training to expand and diversify our knowledge.

As a result, our approach to yoga is balanced, creative, fun, and full of heart. We blend traditional yoga and meditation techniques with modern science. Each class we teach is informed by functional anatomy, biomechanics, and an array of movement methodologies with the intention of empowering you to move and feel well for many years to come.

When we are not teaching, you can find us at the gym, snuggling with our yorkie Dolce, spending time with loved ones, and taking epic adventures around the world.

Energize Yoga is our signature class style, balancing power and fluidity. Move in ways that leave you feeling invigorated and uplifted! We incorporate a sustainable form of Vinyasa flow into every Energize Yoga practice. Skillfully challenging and not overly repetitive, these practices involve dynamic sequences that will get your body moving and circulation flowing.

Michelle Marlahan from Its All Yoga

Michelle Marlahan is a yoga teacher who speaks the language of sensitive introverts and misfits, and who loves the magic that happens when we find one another on the path. Michelle has taught yoga for over 20 years, though her movement practice became more diverse after a hysterectomy thrust her into menopause in early 2021. She welcomes fellow students to a blend of strength training and yoga to help us feel strong and supple in our bodies and have energy for the things we love. The foundation of her teaching is kindness, welcoming all parts of ourselves to the party.

Precision and Play is a practice steeped in curiosity and kindness, we explore traditional yoga with developmental movement and mindfulness for the modern day. Everything, including asana, is about each moment along the way. I look forward to practicing with you.
